I finally did it, I bought my first EVER eyeshadow palette! Usually I hate palettes of any kind because first of all, I hate when my makeup gets dirty or when one color smears or transfers into another color (yes, I’m weird). They just seem so…dirty? Another reason I don’t give in to palettes:I NEVER like more than a couple of colors so obviously it’s completely stupid of me to buy a palette and only use two or three shadows. I also like to look at my collection and see what I have rather than open a bunch of palettes and search for a color (which is why I never depot Mac and Nars shadows.)
However, I finally had to eat my words. I kept seeing Stila’s In the Light shadow palette on YouTube and after hearing praise after praise about it, I finally took a look at Sephora. I swatched the colors not once, not twice, actually I think I picked it up and put it back about 5 times, different days, at different stores! What’s wrong with me? I just HATE palettes! Finally, I started to slowly see them disappearing from stores and snagged the last one that my ULTA carried. I figured if I completely hated the colors, I’d just return it.
I own some individual Stila shadows so I knew I liked the texture and I knew they were easy to blend. But WOW, totally fell in love with this palette after playing around with it. Like I said before, I’m pretty boring when it comes to my shadows. Sometimes I look at my collection and realize that 75% of my colors look the same. I absolutely LOVE every single shadow in this palette! However, I ran into the same problem I was dreading, the mess. The shadows are so soft that it’s so hard to keep them from transferring into the next color. So when I use it, I’m careful, one sweep with my brush, and I tap it over something else so it won’t smear in my palette. Annoying, but worth it.
I also love the darker shades because you can use them as eyeliners. The other day I actually wore the blue shade in my crease. YES, I WORE BLUE EYESHADOW! I loved it!!! They blend out so nicely and will look as dark or as light as you want them too.

The Packaging is just okay in my opinion. I’m not a fan of cardboard packaging, how is that supposed to hold up? But again, I’m weird about my makeup and hate any kind of mark or dents on the packaging (maybe I should see the doctor again for my meds…)
