Hey everybody, yet again it’s been long time no post! Sorry I’ve been so absent!
Recently I was contacted by the founder of WILD with information about her exciting new brand and it immediately sparked my interest. With sustainable, fair trade products from Africa this brand brings something new to the skincare market and they’ve created some products especially for Valentine’s Day!
Their romantic soap and body butter are created using Marula, a tree linked to love, romance and fertility in its native Namibia. The Marula is one of the only trees in the world that has a male and a female tree and so, just like us, the trees need to get romantic in order to bear fruit. Marula was also chosen for the WILD romantic range because the tree produces a beautiful sweet fruit full of vitamins and minerals and its oil is rich in Anti-Oxidants and Oleic Acid, essential for beautiful, healthy Valentine’s Day skin. For the first time ever in the UK, WILD is sharing this long kept African botanical secret to bring you their beautiful natural body cream and soap for the Valentine’s Day 2012 romantic collection.
The products arrived in a lovely fabric bag made from African material. It’s such a lovely touch and comes as standard if you order both a soap and a body butter from their website.
Romantic Soap with Shea and Marula
You can immediately tell this soap is great quality without the buckets of artificial products that some high street soaps have. It smells lovely and is a really nice soap to use. It has that great rustic look that you would expect from a natural soap. It’s very comparable to soaps available from Lush but I really like the packaging of the WILD product as opposed to paper. It costs a reasonable £5.25 for 200g of product and it’ll last ages. I’m normally more of shower gel girl normally but this soap has definitely changed that recently.
Romantic Body Butter with Shea and Marula
This body butter smells AMAZING! As well as the Marula and Shea WILD explain that it’s also infused with the heady floral fragrance of Ylang Ylang, used for centuries to express love, as well as spicy Patchouli, renowned for its aphrodisiac qualities. If I’m not mistaken there’s also a touch of Lavender in there to. It’s smells and feels like a product you’d find in high end spa and is wonderfully thick and creamy without being greasy. A little of this goes a long way so the 170g of product you get will last a while. It sinks into the skin really well and after using it my skin feels lovely and soft. At £14.50 it’s about average for decent body butter and pricewise is comparable to The Body Shop, Soap and Glory, etc. The packaging is pretty and it looks lovely on my dressing table!
As you’ve probably already guessed I’m incredibly impressed with these products and the WILD brand as a whole. The whole basis of their brand is about fair trade African beauty products which is new and refreshing. There’s a lot of attention to detail which is lovely and the products are of really high quality and, I feel, reasonably priced for what they are.

These products were sent to me free of charge by WILD. However, my opinions are 100% my own as always!
