Evening girlies, I hope you’re all well. Firstly I want to apolgise that I’ve been MIA so far this November. Through a combination of job interviews and feeling a bit under the weather blogging has taken a bit of a backseat and I’ve been struggling to find time or motivation! Having had a mass photo taking session tonight I’m hoping normal blogging can now resume!
So, as I said I had a couple of job interviews this month. I’m super excited to say I’ve been successful in obtaining my absolute first choice job which I’m so pleased about it. Having had a few wobbles about what it was I wanted to do it’s really nice to have a clear plan and to know where I’m going. I’m still waiting for a start date as there are lots of checks that have to be done for someone joining the NHS as a nurse but all being well it won’t be too long!
Last week I had another exciting bit of news. I was named Immediate PR‘s Blog of the Week! It was really unexepcted, particularly as Budget Beauty Queen had been lacking my normal amount of love and attention lately and I’m so grateful to everyone over at Immediate PR! Some of my favourite blogs have been chosen in the past so I’m so happy to have been selected! You may have already noticed I’m displaying my new banner in the side bar with pride 
Lastly, you may remember me saying in my TOWIB post (link) that VIVO cosmetics created three lovely looks on the day and supplied everyone that attended with the tools to recreate one of the looks at home. I chose to have a go at creating the Winter Bold look which I loved, particularly as I’m quite partial to a strong lip. I thought I’d share with you the finished look and the picture I was trying to emulate!
The products I used are also pictured. They were VIVO lipsticks in Red Red and Coral Flair, VIVO Base Concealer Kit, VIVO Just Peachy Lipgloss and VIVO Sweet Peach Blusher (For swatches check out my TOWIB post linked above). What do you guys think of my finished look? I was really pleased with how it turned out and I loved both the red and coral lipsticks. The lovely Karla Powell (MUA for VIVO) gave the following tips for recreating the Winter Bold look.
“Apply a thin layer of concealer over the lip by patting it on with your ring finger – this helps the lipstick stay put all day. Use a lip brush to apply Red Red all over the lip and pop a tiny bit of Coral Flair in the middle of the lips. Applying the Jusy Peachy lipgloss to the bottom middle of the lip with add shine! Use Sweet Peach softly on the cheeks so as not to clash with the bold lip look!”
Apologies that this post was a bit here, there and everywhere but as I said I’m hoping the blog will be back to normal now! I hope everyone is okay and has had a good November so far!
