Hey guys, I mentioned on Twitter a little while ago that when I was at Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model Live last month I picked up a few bits from NYX. I have to say it was by far the most exciting stall at the event for me as it’s a brand not that easy to get hold of in the UK. I’m actually surprised I didn’t buy more but I managed to stick to the couple of items I particularly wanted and just a couple of extras! Here’s what I picked up:
Dramatic Chromatic Eyeshadow Pigments in Shade 19 – Black, Shade 05 – Hard Core and Shade 40- Light Pink
On the whole I’m not a massive fan of eyeshadow pigments but these colours all really stood out to me as they’re not colours I already have within my collection. The black shade isn’t actually black. It’s sort of an icy, silvery grey which is really nice for a smoky eye. It’s got a nice amount of shimmer running through it which makes it nice and festive! Hard Core is a stunning teal shade. I had to get this because it’s such a pretty colour but I’m still not sure how I’m going to use it! Light Pink is exactly that, light pink and shimmery. It has an almost champagne undertone when the light hits it and it makes a nice change when I want a neutral evening eye (to go with a bright lip) but if I still want a bit of glitter!
Jumbo Eye Pencil in Shade 608 – Cottage Cheese
The fact that this shade is called Cottage Cheese makes me feel a little bit ill, I’m not sure why but I’m sure there were better things to call it! The Jumbo Eye Pencils are some of NYX’s most well known products and I wanted to stock up on more then just one. However, lots of other people had the same idea and a lot of the colours I wanted were sold out. I really like this pearly white shade. I’ve been using it as a quick and easy inner corner highlight in my day to day eye makeup and really like it. The consistency of these pencils are great and I’d definitely like a few more colours!
Lipliner Pencils in Shade 816 – Fuschia and Shade 817 – Hot Red
This fuschia lipliner was what I made a mad dive for as soon as I saw the NYX stand. I’d been looking for a lipliner to go with the beautiful MAC Girl About Town lipstick and surprisingly MAC don’t offer anything in this shade. Having google this dilemma lots of people suggested NYX’s fuschia lipliner as a great alternative, I have to say it definitely is! I thought I’d pick up a red shade while I was there to as they were quite a good price. I tend to find bright lipsticks can bleed on me so it was great to find budget friendly lipliners in brighter colours.
