Hey cupcakes, happy Monday!
Today’s post (as you can probably tell from the title!) is going to be a little review of the Highlighter Powder I picked up from the Floral Brights LE Collection. I was really excited to see what this collection would hold as the amazing Lisa Eldridge, makeup artist extraordinaire, had worked on it. Before it came out she said:
“The No7 spring collection showcases a bright new twist to the barely-there make up look that refuses to go out of fashion. Encapsulating the eclectic and diverse nature of modern British beauty, there’s a perfect look for every woman – a refresh of the neutral look with the latest nude hues and a wear-it-if-you-dare bold flirtation with colour – to inspire all your Ta-Dah! moments this spring.”
That statement alone meant I was really keen to check out what was going to be in the collection and I wasn’t disappointed. The packaging (particularly of the two compacts) is lovely. It’s bright and fun and I love it! That being said, of the six products in the collection only one really stood out to me as a must purchase. Not because the eye palette, lipsticks and cream blushes aren’t beautiful but because I have some similar items within my makeup collection. The one item I just had to have was the Vital Enlightening Highlighter Powder.
This is such a beautiful highlighting powder that has cleverly combined the right sort of colour shades so it would suit a majority of skin tones. In some lights it appears quite peachy and that’s probably it’s strongest undertone. However, there’s also a strong burst of pink in there which adds a lovely warm glow to the skin. It’s quite shimmery in the pan but rest assured its not one of those highlighters that leaves your face looking like a glitter ball! I’ve found that when dusted over the high points of your face (cheek bones, brow bones, bridge of the nose, etc.) it illuminates and brightens the face, giving your makeup a beautifully polished look.
Before I got this my go to highlighters were my MAC MSF’s in Soft and Gentle or Lightscapade. As much as I still love them I’ve actually found myself reaching for this more often, particularly when I’m just looking for a barely there highlighter for work. The advantage of this product is although it does it’s job of highlighting, I don’t necessarily look like I’ve put in loads of effort which I really like!
Has anyone tried this or any other of the products from the Floral Brights collection? I’d love to hear what you think!
